Diana Wallis MEP made a flying visit to Iceland at the end of last week. As part of her responsibilities as a Vice President of the European Parliament, she had a meeting with the Prime Minister of Iceland, Mrs. Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir, and the Foreign Minister, Ossur Skarphedinsson, before delivering a lecture at the University of Iceland 'Icesave, Iceland and the EU: whose debt is it anyway?'.

Later in the day Diana met leading members of Iceland's pro-EU movement and members of the Liberal Democrats' sister party in Iceland, Framsóknarflokkurinn.

An interview with Diana was shown on Iceland TV's leading current affairs programme (SJÓNVARPIÐ with Silfur Egils) on Sunday 21st February. http://dagskra.ruv.is/sjonvarpid/4472553/2010/02/21/3/
