Local Euro MP Diana Wallis visited the Hepworth Gallery development in Wakefield on Friday. The development due to open to the public in the autumn 2010 will become the home for the unique collection of Barbara Hepworth's original plaster sculptures as well as for Wakefield's most important art collections.

Diana said:

"Now that the building is taking shape one gets a real feel for what a fantastic resource this is going to be, not just for Wakefield but for the whole of Yorkshire. The building and the location alone should draw many thousands of visitors. I am very much looking forward of returning when the collection of works from Hepworth, Moore and Hockney - amongst others - is on display."
