Local Euro MP visits Filey school

Local Liberal Democrat Euro MP visited Filey School, Muston Road, on Friday 21 October.

Diana Wallis MEP for Yorkshire & the Humber met Year 10 & Year 11 students in the morning before joining members of staff for lunch.

She judged the school's Comenius competition which focuses on demonstrating European links, in this case in with an environmental theme. The school has Comenius links in France, Spain, Cyprus and the Czech Republic.

Diana Wallis said, "Filey is a wonderful school with a real international outlook and the staff and students alike work hard at their European links. I was very impressed by the work I saw in the school."
